Cloverlea's current focus: What is on the calendar for this month?  

Health and Safety - this is always a focus for us.  We ensure we have a Health and Safety meeting once a month that is minuted and we work through a set agenda.  The team 'at the coalface' are always communicating to one another any hazards that may be around.  

Conserving water - proactive in regards to water leaks.  We read our water meters regularly and record water usage so all team members know where our water is going and whether there are any trouble spots. 

People Management - organising staff and rosters so our people get a chance to take a break over the winter.  Rest and relaxation!  

Animal Management -   Completing the dry off of cows due to calve in the spring.  Artificial Insemination for our cows that calved in the Autumn.    Knowing our animals and what they are doing is key to a successful dairy farm.  

Growing Young Stock - currently we have calves that are being fed milk, meal and hay.  These animals were born during April and May this year.  We also have Rising 1's and In Calf Heifers.  

Maximising Grass - as pasture is our number 1 feed it is critical it is utilised to it's best potential.  Everyday decisions are made for the rotation around weather, shade, walking distance, residuals and cover.  

Farm Maintenance - time to spend some time ensuring tracks and races are maintained, fences are in great shape and power is strong in each fence line.
